Valentine's Day Wedding Inspiration

I am so lucky that my job title is pretty much summed up as "celebrating love". Being a wedding planner LOVE is what keeps us in business.

A romantic blush pink wedding at Four Seasons Las Vegas

I always love hearing the stories of how couples get together and what it is that brought us to this day....their wedding day!

The Art of Wedding Planning

Our friends and amazing stationery company, Paper and Home put together one lovely night filled with wedding professionals, brides, and grooms for The Art of Wedding Planning. West Elm was the perfect backdrop for this event. When I walked in I had to hold back from buying one of everything in the store. I was honored to be one of the planners who spoke on the panel discussing different topics on how to design your wedding and make it your own. It was nice sitting up there amongst my fellow wedding planners hearing their take on different topics as well. Seeing so many talented people in on room was very inspiring and I loved that we could all come together as one group for The Art of Wedding Planning. Thank you to Alt F Photographers and Memory Lane Video for capturing the event beautifully!

2012 USPS Postage Rates

Thanks to two local invitation companies 1st Impressions Invitations and Paper and Home, I've been made aware of the postage increase going into effect January 22nd.

Laser Cut Invitations

I saw these beautiful laser cut invitations on Design Sponge and was immediately brought back to my childhood when we learned about Chinese paper cutting.

Pet Save the Dates

What do I think about a wedding with this adorable Save the Date? Well, I'm excited!  Michelle and Keith have two Boston terriers - one of which is named "Vegas" - after the town they met in!  They will be tying the knot in September at the Primrose Courtyard at Wynn Las Vegas and celebrating with a reception at PURE Nightclub inside Caesars Palace.

Vendor Spotlight: Ana de Roux Invitations

Name: Ana de Roux Location: McAllen, Texas Company Name: Ana de Roux Invitations Number of Years in Business: 2.5 years Website: www.anaderoux.com and www.passportinvitations.com Blog: anaderoux.blogspot.com Twitter: @anaderoux

How did you get started in stationery? After designing my wedding and shower invitations everyone thought they were really unique and started asking me to make invitations for their events, I started working mostly with family until I built my website and started doing this for brides all over the US.

What did you do prior to this? I was working at the City Hall’s Technology area, was mostly working with computers, servers, software, etc..

If you didn't do stationery for a living what would you be doing instead? Probably some other online business, I love working from home and being able to work even when I’m out of town.

What are some of your hobbies? Designing is really a hobby for me, plus it’s also my job, that’s why I love it so much.

What is the craziest wedding experience you've ever had? I’ve been through everything from weddings being called off to brides who discover something is wrong when the order is ready. I used to stress about things like that but I’ve learned it’s not worth it, if it’s something that can be fixed, even if I have to redo the order then why stress right?

What is the best wedding experience you've ever had? I’ve had the pleasure to work with so many wonderful brides that I can’t name just one. The thing that always makes my day is when I receive an e-mail from a client saying how pleased they’re with their invites or how their guests are all commenting about them.

What is your inspiration? Flowers, wedding decor ideas, anything a bride has in mind for their wedding inspires me.

Name an exotic location you'd like to visit soon. Egypt.

Why do your clients choose you over some of your competitors? Originality of my designs and flexibility.

What is the best piece of advice you can offer a bride and groom on their wedding day? No matter how perfect you want your wedding to be, take a day off before the wedding (what has to be done should be done by then), enjoy the day of your wedding and don’t worry about little details.

Anything else interesting you'd like to share? I love to design new and different things, I love challenges, so if you have any idea in mind  I will put it in paper.

Wedding Stamps for your Wedding Invitations

plane stamp I saw a December 1st blog post from Laura Hooper about her Calligraphy Stamps and I was so eager to write about this on my own blog!

I love the little ways that brides and grooms are personalizing their wedding day.  First impressions definitely count and the wedding invitation is the first item your guests will see which will set the tone of the entire event.

Instead of a boring standard stamp on your wedding invitation envelope, how about either PhotoStamps or a calligraphy stamp from Ms. Laura Hooper?  Laura recently opened an online store on Zazzle.  My personal favorites are the Airplane Save the Date and the Bulldog!  Of course, you can also request custom stamps as well!

Laura also has an Etsy store!

Holiday Discounts on Laura Hooper Calligraphy

This is not a sponsored advertisement. I am a big supporter of Laura Hooper because of her talent and genuine personality and wanted to share her promotion with brides!

Paper Fetish Event Boutique

At CaterSource, I fell in love with this event stationery from Paper Fetish. Paper Fetish is only available through event planners and producers and not available through your local stationery store or retail outlet. Here are a few samples they had at the show. The "Winter Wonderland" one is my ABSOLUTE favorite. One picture is a little blurry but I never claimed to be a photographer... Anyway, I plan on carrying this line soon.
